Team Pump and Run returned for the FIFTH consecutive year in 2019!
On Sunday, March 3, 2019, Chris Fausel and Jeanne Schilder competed in the Arnold Sports Festival Pump & Run 5K in Columbus, Ohio, a combination event that includes bench-pressing and a 5K run. Chris and Jeanne challenged their friends and colleagues to pledge support to Hoosier Cancer Research Network (HCRN) for every bench press “rep” they complete (maximum of 30 reps per team member) during the event.
As clinical manager of oncology pharmacy at the IU Simon Cancer Center, and chairman of the HCRN board of directors, Chris’s support for cancer research is more than just a job — it is his passion. “These patients are facing their fight with cancer with uncommon strength and courage,” Fausel said. “It’s a privilege to compete in their honor.”
Jeanne’s personal mission is to improve the lives of women afflicted with gynecologic malignances through expert clinical care and access to clinical trials, education of residents and medical students, and research leading to improvements in treatment options and quality of life for patients.
Chris and Jeanne combined for 59 total reps, resulting in more than $6,100 in total support for innovative cancer research!
